Scotty is the Border Collie that started it all for me! He was my first
Border Collie
and was very good at obedience before I found out that he has severe Hip Dysplasia (HD).
This ended his career in obedience. I just had the gold bead implant surgery
performed on him and he is no longer in pain and is moving very well. He may even be able to go
back to doing obedience again. Only time will tell how much he will be able to do, but his
prognosis appears to be excellent. Right now Scotty takes care of any puppy that comes
into our home and teaches them the rules. He also will lay with an orphan lamb to keep
it warm. This is the sweetest dog I have ever met. I got Scotty out of the
newspaper for $100.00. Not knowing that Border Collies are one of the breeds that can
get Hip Dysplasia, I learned a hard lesson. I have now done my homework on HD
and buy dogs with generations of hip and eye testing |
